CRYPTIK, a Los Angeles based artist, creates works of art that explore the realm of spirituality and consciousness. His iconic depictions of deities and spiritual leaders, along with his signature style of calligraphy, can been seen throughout Los Angeles and San Francisco, adorning the urban landscape and galleries alike. The goal of his art is to offer people a different perspective, one that encompasses teachings from diverse wisdom traditions, in order to help them develop a broader philosophy in life.
CRYPTIK’s lettering is extraordinary and those that have seen his work in galleries or have seen him paint live are mesmerized by the fluid precision of his brush strokes. The letters are the artists’ own stylized version of English, inspired by ancient scripts such as Sanskrit, Arabic, Hebrew and Hindi, with a twist of cholo/gang graffiti. Equally striking are CYRPTIK’s detailed and compelling graphics. In his recent series, Eastern Philosophy, CRYPTIK combines his calligraphy with depictions of Buddha, Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, and Gandhi to name a few.
